They will play the Menéndez brothers in the Netflix anthology series, which told the story of Jeffrey Dahmer (Evan Peters) in Season 1. Netflix confirmed the subject and title of “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” in May. This will be the first of the two additional “Monster” installments that Netflix ordered after “Dahmer — The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” became the streamer’s No. 2 most popular English-language series of all time. Back in 2019, Corenswet was promoting his supporting role in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix limited series “Hollywood” when he told Entertainment Weekly that his biggest acting goal was “definitely to play Superman.” Here we are four years later and now he’s Superman. The actor also said he was aware of his similar looks to Henry Cavill, who played Superman in three movies directed by Zack Snyder. “It came to my attention before the internet got a hold of me,” Corenswet told EW at the time about comparisons to Cavill. “But my pie-in-the-sky ambition is definitely to play Superman. I would love to see somebody do an upbeat, throwback [take on Superman]. I love the Henry Cavill dark and gritty take, but I would love to see the next one be very bright and optimistic.”

David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan will play the coveted parts in James Gunn’s “Superman: Legacy.” The latest on-screen iteration of the iconic comic book hero will largely be a workplace origin story, Gunn said when he and fellow DC steward Peter Safran laid out their narrative plans in January. Corenswet, who broke out in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series “Hollywood,” will play cub reporter Kent at the fictional newspaper The Daily Planet. Brosnahan will be his coworker and co-lead. Gunn is directing the project from his own screenplay, based on the character created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.  Safran (“Aquaman,” the upcoming “Aquaman 2,” and The Conjuring franchise) will produce. The project is set for release on July 11, 2025.

She just now crossed our picket line to work on Ryan Murphy’s @AHSFX Hamptons, shooting here on 52nd in NYC,” wrote “The Blacklist” exec producer and WGA strike captain T Cooper on his Twitter account.

To portray the real-life serial killer, Peters channeled Dahmer’s distinctive Wisconsin accent and chillingly detached demeanor, going so far as to strap lead weights around his arms and pack weights into his shoes to capture Dahmer’s robotic physicality.
