Roxy Horner shares painful condition as she struggles during pregnancy with Jack Whitehall
Roxy Horner has shared that she's been diagnosed symphis pubis dysfunction (SPD) amid the final trimester of her pregnancy. The model, 32, who is expecting her first child with comedian partner Jack Whitehall, opened up about the diagnosis on Instagram as she shared that she also lost her grandfather in recent weeks.Taking to her Instagram Story, Roxy shared a snap of her dog Coco, whom she shares with Jack, 34, to which she added the text: "Last week was tough for me, we lost our grandad and then I spent a few days in hospital. "I’ve been diagnosed with symphis pubis dysnfunction which basically means I struggle to stand up or walk during this last bit of my pregnancy without having proper rest." She continued: "I wondered for a while why I was in pain struggling to do normal things but it makes sense now and apparently quite common in last bit of pregnancy." SPD can also be known as pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PGP), and according to the NHS is "a collection of uncomfortable symptoms caused by a stiffness of your pelvic joints or the joints moving unevenly at either the back or front of your pelvis." This condition affects up to one in five pregnant women and can be treated with physiotherapy, but is unlikely to completely go away until after the baby is born.
