Parkinson’s disease. After suffering from the disease for over five years, the filmmaker was confirmed dead by his wife on wednesday, who said he died in his sleep at his apartment in New York City.

The legendary filmmaker and actor Robert Downey Sr has died. He was 85.  The accomplished countercultural filmmaker passed away peacefully in his sleep, confirmed his son Robert Downey Jr through social media.
