Today it was announced that Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, and Richard Madden are set to star in Killer Heat, from Amazon Studios. Philippe Lacôte is directing the film, which is based on Jo Nesbø’s short story The Jealousy Man, from a script penned by Roberto Bentivegna (House of Gucci), with revisions by Oscar and BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies; Treason). Makeready’s Brad Weston is producing the film, with Jo Nesbø (bestselling Harry Hole book series), Niclas Salomonsson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Karnowski, and Makeready’s Collin Creighton executive producing. Makeready’s Oscar Montemayor will associate produce.

Angelique Jackson Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley and Richard Madden are set to star in the thriller “Killer Heat,” from Amazon Studios. “Night of the Kings” filmmaker Philippe Lacôte has signed on to direct the movie, which is based on Jo Nesbø’s 2021 short story “The Jealousy Man.” The film centers on twin brothers (Madden) caught in a violent love triangle on a remote Greek island, and a damaged detective known as “The Jealousy Man” (Gordon-Levitt), who is called in to investigate. Lacôte will direct from a script penned by Roberto Bentivegna (“House of Gucci”), with revisions by Oscar and BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Matt Charman (“Bridge of Spies,” “Treason”).

A week before the “Poker Face” Season 1 finale, Thursday’s episode featured one of series creator Rian Johnson’s favorite collaborators — Joseph Gordon-Levitt. And with “Poker Face” being the show it is, if you aren’t Natasha Lyonne’s Charlie Cale, you’re either a murder victim, the murderer or an innocent bystander who gets caught in the crossfire. Lucky for Gordon-Levitt, who says he was thrilled to learn that “Knives Out” and “Glass Onion” filmmaker Johnson had assigned him a ultimate “total dick” role. Gordon-Levitt was not just the murderer in this installment, “Escape From Shit Mountain,” but the most prolific murderer of the first season — someone who actually attempts to kill Charlie herself.

Thirty-five years after winning the Oscar for original score for Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Last Emperor, David Byrne is back at the 95th edition of the awards ceremony performing the Oscar-nominated song “This is A Life” from Everything Everywhere All at Once with the pic’s composers and song writer Son Lux and the pic’s Oscar nominated supporting actress Stephanie Hsu. Japanese sing Mitski sings the end credits song in the movie with Byrne.

She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but investigate and solve.”Alongside Lyonne, the cast of the first season also includes Benjamin Bratt, Ron Perlman, and Adrian Brody, along with a host of guest stars.While the series sees its protagonist travel to a different location in each episode, filming was primarily based Newburgh, New York, running from April through October, 2022, in locations throughout the mid-Hudson Valley.At least one episode of the series was filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Movie crews, almost uniformly across any filmmaking disciplines, find themselves in this nebulous zone where the less their work stands out, the more accolades they get from critics, peers and audiences. If costumes stand out, the characters feel a bit off. This case, which ended up being a double homicide, hit her particularly hard after she grew very close to the second victim, a monster-movie maker named Arthur (played by Nick Nolte) whom she began working for in his creature-feature shop at the top of the episode. Arthur was murdered by Jones’ Laura, his former business partner who first killed her husband Max (Russ), after he discovered a dark secret from Arthur, Laura and Max’s early days making horror flicks together.

BreAnna Bell Peacock has scored another win with Rian Johnson’s whodunnit series “Poker Face.” The original comedy series opened at No. 3 on Nielsen’s Streaming Original Series Top 10 chart, making it Peacock’s highest-ranked original series to ever hit the chart. During the Jan. 23-29 viewing window, the show recorded 547 million minutes viewed in the first four days of availability with its four-episode opening. (Further information regarding where the series landed on Nielsen’s overall programs chart is not yet available.) The series also marks the streamer’s highest-ranking original comedy to crack the chart. “The Best Man: The Final Chapters” was Peacock’s first original series to land on Nielsen’s Top 10 list — opening at No. 5 during the Dec. 19-25 viewing period. Prior to the revival series taking the crown, the streamer’s drama “Bel-Air” previously held the title for Peacock’s biggest ever series debut.

Rebecca Lenkiewicz will be this year’s recipient of the WGA West’s Paul Selvin Award in recognition of her adapted screenplay for She Said, the Universal film about the New York Times reporters who broke the story that exposed disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.
