EXCLUSIVE: Vertical has acquired North American rights to All Fun and Games, a new horror thriller from Anton (The Night House) and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO (Everything Everywhere All at Once). The film starring Natalia Dyer (Stranger Things) and Asa Butterfield (Sex Education) has been slated for a day-and-date release on September 1, which will have it open against the Denzel Washington starrer The Equalizer 3 and the Olivia Cooke-Hilary Swank thriller The Good Mother, also from Vertical.

Charna Flam Chris Hemsworth’s hit action franchise, “Extraction,” is getting a third adventure. The action star and director Sam Hargrave made the announcement at Netflix’s Tudum event on Saturday, following the June 16 premiere of “Extraction 2.” The first two films center on black ops mercenary Tyler Rake (Hemsworth). In the first film, Tyler takes on a mission to save an Indian crime lord’s son, but it pushes him to the brink of death. “Extraction 2” picks up with Tyler recovering from the assignment, but then he decides to embark on another risky task in order to save the family of a famed Georgian gangster. Hargrave, whose directorial debut was the first “Extraction,” has lent his stunt expertise to the franchise’s second film as well. The stuntman-turned-director stunned fans with the sequel’s use of a singular shot for a 21-minute action sequence.

The next chapter in the Russo Brothers’ global spy thriller Citadel now has an official title and a first-look photo of its lead, Matilda de Angelis.

Longtime Russo Brothers partner Mike Larocca is leaving the filmmakers’ studio AGBO that he co-founded at the end of this year, Deadline has confirmed. As the Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of AGBO, Larocca focused on creative development and production.

De Angelis made her international breakthrough in Susanne Bier’s “The Undoing,” alongside Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant.  Prominent Italian shingle Cattleya, which is part of ITV Studios – and known for standout shows such as “Gomorrah” – produced “Citadel:Diana” which was created and filmed in Italy, where production wrapped earlier this year. Variety has learned that Alex Metcalf has boarded the show, currently titled “Butch & Sundance,” as showrunner and executive producer. Series creators Kaz Firpo and Ryan Firpo will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers alongside Metcalf. The Firpos most recently wrote the screenplay for the Marvel film “Eternals.” Amazon has ordered the show straight-to-series. The show was first reported as being in development in September, with Regé-Jean Page attached to play Cassidy and Glen Powell playing Sundance. At that time, it was reported that deals for the show were not yet closed and discussions were ongoing.

Amazon has set the creative team for its Butch & Sundance series.

Prime Video has postponed the release of the first trailer for its global spy series from Anthony and Joe Russo in light of the tragic events in Greece where a passenger train collided with a freight train, claiming at least 38 lives, with scores of others injured.

Prime Video this morning released first look at its global spy series from Anthony and Joe Russo, Citadel, which will premiere April 28 with two episodes, followed by a new episode released weekly every Friday through May 26. The images for the big-budget series, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden, feature British actor Lesley Manville which is being revealed as a core series regular alongside previously announced Madden, Chopra Jonas and Stanley Tucci.

Prime Video has sent the Italian instalment of the Russo Brothers’ global sci-fi event series Citadel into production and cast Matilda de Angelis (The Undoing, Leonardo) as its lead, as Amazon Italy execs today touted the streamer’s local growth here at the MIA Market in Rome.

The Hollywood Reporter, which first broke the news. The series is envisioned as part of a larger franchise with multiple shows and spinoffs.
