Top Boy will return for a fourth season in March, Netflix has confirmed. The hit drama, which is produced by Drake, was last on screens in 2019.

Top Boy on Twitter.The hit series first aired in 2011 until 2013 on Channel 4, before being resurrected by Netflix for a third series in 2019.Walters, who has played Dushane Hill in the show since its inception, shared a photo on Twitter earlier today (January 30) of what looks to be a new poster for the series being put up in London. The actor’s headshot takes up most of the advert, while the word “before” seems to be written over his face.Beneath him, the word “TOP” is visible, with the rest of the poster not plastered up when the photo was taken. “Tomorrow,” Walters captioned the tweet.

EXCLUSIVE: After meeting and auditioning with a number actors, Top Boy breakout Micheal Ward has been set to join Olivia Colman in the Searchlight drama Empire of Light with Sam Mendes directing. The film will mark Mendes first film since his Oscar-winning World War I drama 1917 and he also penned the script and marks his first solo script. The film will be produced by Mendes and Pippa Harris’ Neal Street Productions. Production is expected to star in fall of 2022.

Top Boy will “expand the world” of the show “in a really interesting way” when its fourth season airs on Netflix, filmmaker Aneil Karia, who directed three episodes of the most recent season, has told NME.Top Boy, which follows the dealings of a group of gang members on a housing estate in the East End, includes Ashley Walters and Micheal Ward in its mostly British cast. Its first two series were broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK before it was abruptly cancelled.

“Small Axe,” a series of dramas exploring the experiences of London’s West Indian community from the 1960s to the 1980s, received 15 nominations on Wednesday for the British Academy Television Awards.

Small Axe, which depicts the lives of Black British people between 1969 and 1982, and is dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement. He played Franklyn in the Lovers Rock instalment.Speaking to the Times, Ward was asked if he thought the film and TV industry was doing enough to push for diversity.
