Four Tet has surprise-released two new albums, titled ‘Parallel’ and ‘871’ – listen to both below now.The producer – whose real name is Kieran Hebden – announced both records on Twitter seven hours before their release.At midnight today (December 25), the albums appeared on streaming services. ‘Parallel’ spans 10 songs and a one-hour-and-10-minutes run time and is available on all platforms.‘871’, meanwhile, is only available on Bandcamp at present.

Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden has announced a forthcoming collaborative album with Madlib, titled ‘Sound Ancestors’.‘Sound Ancestors’ will be released in January next year through the Madlib Invazion label. The lead single, ‘Road Of The Lonely Ones’, will premiere on BBC Radio 6 Music today (December 14).

Four Tet has given his spin on a recent Tame Impala cut, remixing ‘Is It True’ from the band’s latest album ‘The Slow Rush’.On his rendition, Four Tet – real name Kieran Hebden – strips Kevin Parker’s psych-pop original of its blissed-out groove. Instead, Hebden’s take on ‘Is It True’ is an ambient, ethereal and somewhat discordant mix.

Four Tet has shared “4T Recordings”—once the alias for Kieran Hebden’s earliest solo dabblings, now the name of a track from his new album, Sixteen Oceans. He premiered the track, which you can hear below, on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC 6 Music show this morning. In a tweet, he announced the album will be released next Friday, March 13. Earlier this week, Four Tet announced that he's wrapped work on his forthcoming album. It's called Sixteen Oceans, and it's due out sometime in March.
