Slowthai has spoken out on his controversial behaviour at the NME Awards 2020, admitting that his actions were “inexcusable” and that he’s “learning every single day”.During the ceremony at London’s O2 Academy Brixton back in February, an interaction between Slowthai (real name Tyron Frampton) and comedian Katherine Ryan (who was co-hosting with Julie Adenuga) escalated to what he describes as “to a point of shameful actions on my part”.

Katherine Ryan has reassured fans that she did not feel "uncomfortable" after an on-stage confrontation with rapper Slowthai at the NME Awards.

​slowthai was set to be crowned the Hero of the Year at Wednesday’s NME Awards, but he ended the night having to apologize to host Katherine Ryan publicly instead. The rapper had a bizarre exchange with Ryan in the middle of the show, where he made sexually forward comments that elicited a series of sarcastic responses from her.
