Franz Ferdinand‘s Alex Kapranos has shared details of a new six-part radio series.In August, Kapranos will join Absolute Radio to host a new series that will run every Sunday night at 10pm from August 7. Pearl Jam have announced a number of new additions to their BST Hyde Park shows next month.The gigs on July 8 and 9 will be the band’s biggest ever London shows. Pearl Jam were originally due to headline BST Hyde Park in 2021 alongside Duran Duran but the event was cancelled as a result of the COVID pandemic.Newly announced support acts for the shows include October Drift, Fatherson, LIFE and Daytime TV on July 8.

The Cure, Johnny Marr, Blossoms are more have all contributed to a new book that aims to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.Artist Pete McKee and Teenage Cancer Trust have co-produced the book that features 19 song lyrics performed on stage for the charity over the past 20 years. It includes handwritten lyrics from artists including Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher, Amy MacDonald, Suede and more.The book will be released on 21st March and will retail at £25, with all profits going to support Teenage Cancer Trust.

Modest Mouse have announced a new North American tour with The Cribs, due to take place this spring.The two bands have long had a link, with the Wakefield trio recruiting the Portland band’s Joe Plummer to add some percussion to some tracks in 2007. Later, in 2008, Johnny Marr completed his touring duties with Modest Mouse and left the line-up to join The Cribs, with whom he played for three years.Now the groups are hitting the road together for a number of gigs across North America, which will begin in Baltimore in April.

IDLES, Little Simz and Father John Misty are among the leading names on the line-up for BBC Radio 6 Music Festival 2022.The annual live music event is set to take place in multiple venues in Cardiff from April 1-3, marking the first in-person festival to be held by 6 Music since 2020.
