UPDATED, 12:50 PM: Ishana Night Shyamalan’s debut film is on the move, again. And the new date is a familiar one. Two months after Warner Bros. shuffled The Watchers back by a week to the June 14-16 Fathers Day frame, the pic is headed back to its original June 7 date.

Where are, who are, what are “The Watchers”? The answer to those questions will be answered this June with the feature-length directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan, yep, the daughter of filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, known for his twist-filled horrors, thrillers, and fantasy films.

Moving away from the crowded June 7 weekend which now has Sony’s Bad Boys 4 and Lionsgate’s The Crow, New Line‘s Ishana Night Shyamalan horror movie The Watchers is going a week later on Father’s Day weekend, June 14 which is where Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out 2 resides.

The first trailer for the upcoming movie The Watchers has arrived and we’re already terrified.

Jaden Thompson “You can’t see them, but they see everything.” Warner Bros. has released the trailer for the upcoming horror film “The Watchers,” written and directed by Ishana Shyamalan, the daughter of horror veteran M. Night Shyamalan, in her directorial debut.

Two of the most mysterious films of the year so far are both from the Shyamalan family; yep, there’s more than one. M.

 This past January, Blumhouse had a big hit with “M3GAN,” their PG-13 thriller about a murderous A.I. doll.

Ethan Shanfeld “Barbarian,” Zach Cregger’s 2022 horror hit, is getting the video game treatment, with a single-player “all-new narrative experience” being developed for consoles and PC. Diversion3 Entertainment, the studio behind horror video game adaptations for “Friday the 13th” and “Evil Dead,” is leading development on the “Barbarian” game, in association with New Regency Pictures. The game will be based on the “characters and creatures” of the movie.

Susie Fox, Mackenzie Roussos and Chelsea Mckinnies have joined Entertainment 360 as partners. No one is commenting but I hear the trio have closed deals with the management company and have already started there, using work emails.

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Schaefer, President of Motion Picture and Television of New Regency Productions, is exiting his post after seven years. We’re hearing this is an amicable decision between both parties and has been in the works for some time, coordinated with New Regency chairman and CEO Yariv Milchan. Schaefer will explore new opportunities as a producer across film and television.

Naman Ramachandran U.K.-based sales and distribution company Blue Finch Film Releasing has secured global distribution rights, excluding North America, for Teresa Sutherland’s film “Lovely, Dark, and Deep.” The film debuted at the Fantasia International Film Festival. Blue Finch is set to kick off sales at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival. North American rights for the film are held by XYZ Films.

Bird Box Barcelona is a spin-off from Netflix’s breakout 2018 horror thriller.Based on the book by Josh Malerman, the original Bird Box followed Malorie Hayes (Sandra Bullock) as she tries to protect herself and her two children from entities which cause people who look at them to kill themselves.Despite mixed reviews from critics, the film became a huge success. According to Netflix, Bird Box was watched by over 45million subscribers within its first week, breaking records for an original film release on the platform.The film is described as a spin-off sequel – not a direct continuation – which is set around the same time as the original film.

Bird Box” was one of Netflix’s greatest hits. The Sandra Bullock-led film follows her and two children in the apocalypse, where the world has been decimated by a mysterious entity that forces people to kill themselves the minute they see it.

Pedro Pascal continues to line up buzzworthy projects. He’s signed on to star in “Weapons,” the new film written and directed by Zach Cregger, who previously worked on “Barbarian,” one of the biggest hits of last year.

Manori Ravindran Executive Editor of International Apple TV+ thriller “Suspicion” is set to hit the sales block in Cannes at this year’s MipTV market. Keshet International has revealed that the eight-part series starring Uma Thurman will headline its drama slate at the spring TV market in France, which kicks off on April 17. The Israeli TV distributor will shop linear rights for the series. Apple TV+ commissioned Keshet U.K. to produce “Suspicion,” which is based on the popular Israeli series “False Flag” and launched on the service in February 2022. Its sales foray marks one of the rare instances where an original on a streamer (that’s still available globally on the platform) has been sold on the open market for linear rights.

Patrick Frater Asia Bureau Chief ITV has commissioned a second season of the comedy-drama series “The Dry” for ITVX. It will be produced by Element Pictures (part of Fremantle), in association with Fís Eireann/Screen Ireland and ITV Studios, in partnership with RTÉ. Nancy Harris (Dates) and acclaimed director Paddy Breathnach (Viva, Rosie) will return to helm the second season, which will stream exclusively on ITVX next year. The first season was made available to view for free on the streamer last month. With the story picking up seven months after the end of the first, Roisin Gallagher will return as recovering alcoholic Shiv Sheridan, alongside regular cast members from the first series. Hot genre filmmaker Zach Cregger and his Barbarian collaborators have sold yet another mysterious feature project to New Line, following the auction of their horror, Weapons.

Altitude has boarded sales on the Village Roadshow Pictures thriller The Prize, starring Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) and Haley Bennett (Till). The London-based company will present the project to buyers at AFM this week, with additional support and review from Village Roadshow Pictures’ international sales team.
