The actor said he’s “excited” for the spinoff and thinks it “sounds like a great conceit.”“I love the idea — I guess it’s set in a family newspaper company, and I worked with Domhnall Gleeson, who is one of the leads.

NBC has announced that they are developing a follow-up series to the US version of hit sitcom The Office, with the new show set to stream on Peacock in the US. It was announced on Wednesday 8 May that Peacock had placed a formal series order for the untitled series, which is set in the same universe as NBC's former Emmy-winning Steve Carell comedy.The new TV series is set to introduce a new cast of characters "in a fresh setting ripe for comedic storytelling: a daily newspaper," according to NBCUniversal Entertainment's Lisa Katz.This will be another addition to the massive The Office universe, reports the Mirror US.

The first two actors have been cast for a potential spinoff of The Office.

Variety has confirmed with sources that Sabrina Impacciatore and Domhnall Gleeson are attached to the project, which remain in development at Universal Television. They would occupy two roles in what would be an ensemble cast, like the original versions of the show.

The potential new Greg Daniels and Michael Komancomedy series in The Office universe has locked in its first two stars: Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) and Sabrina Impacciatore (White Lotus), who will be part of an ensemble, sources close to production tell Deadline. Details regarding their roles are under wraps. The Office studio Universal Television declined to comment, other than to confirm that the project remains in development.

Creator Victor Levin and star Andrea Riseborough discussed their Masterpiece on PBSminiseries Alice & Jack at Deadline Contenders TV on Saturday.
