The trial for a Florida woman accused in the state’s infamous "Killer Clown" case from 1990 has been delayed yet again as defense attorneys successfully sought time to examine newly discovered information about other clown sightings from that time, court papers show. Jury selection in the trial for the decades-old case involving accused killer Sheila Keen Warren was scheduled to start this week after previously being postponed a half-dozen times.

White House chief of staff Ron Klain faced social media backlash on Thursday for praising rising Social Security benefits following another high inflation report. The September inflation report found that the consumer price index (CPI) rose by approximately 0.4% from the previous month with inflation hitting 8.2% since last year.The numbers were higher than the original 8.1% headline figure and the 0.2% monthly increase forecast by Refinitiv economists. Despite this report, Klain heavily promoted the additional news that Social Security benefits are set to rise by 8.7%, the largest cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) since 1981.The Social Security Administration calculates COLA based on the increase in CPI from the third quarter of 2021 to third quarter 2022.

Sean Penn's mother Eileen Ryan has died aged 94. The actress - who was due to turn 95 on October 16th - passed away at her home in Malibu, California, according to a statement from 'Dead Man Walking' star Sean's publicist.

One of Coronation Street's original cast members, Ernst Walder, has died at the age of 94.The actor played the role of Ivan Cheveski, who was the son-in-law of Elsie Tanner in the hit soap opera.
