Netflix has set an April 4 premiere date and unveiled the first trailer for psychological thriller series Ripley, starring Andrew Scott as Patricia Highsmith’s title character. The series adaptation, from The Night Of’s Steve Zaillian, was orginally set at Showtime but moved to the streamer ahead of Showtime’s integration into Paramount+.

The Patricia Highsmith adaptation was originally set up at Showtime, but was acquired by Netflix in a sale between the companies. Directed and written by Steven Zaillian, who most recently penned Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman,” the series follows Scott’s Ripley, described as “a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York.” The plot follows his relationship with a wealthy man traveling in Italy with a troubled relationship with his son.

Valerie Wu Intern “Schitt’s Creek” co-creator, producer and star Dan Levy has released the trailer for his upcoming Netflix comedy-drama film, “Good Grief.” “Good Grief” is the first project spearheaded by Levy since the end of “Schitt’s Creek” in 2020, although the actor has made recent film and television appearances in Disney’s “Haunted Mansion,” HBO’s “The Idol” and Netflix’s comedy drama series “Sex Education.” Notably, “Good Grief” will be Levy’s feature film debut as a director. It is also Levy’s first project under his Not A Real Production Company and Netflix. The film follows Marc Dreyfus (Levy), who struggles to cope with the sudden death of his husband, Oliver (Luke Evans).

Marta Balaga Banijay has launched a global accelerator program aimed at supporting female creators developing promising unscripted formats. The company has also commissioned a first-ever study on women in the non-fiction space. Named Banijay Launch, the competitive program was unveiled at Mipcom by Sharon Levy, Endemol Shine North America CCO and James Townley, Banijay’s CCO of development.
