EXCLUSIVE: NBC has put in development Ties That Bind, a drama based on Elizabeth Coleman’s Secret Bridesmaids’ Business stage play and book, from writer Deirdre Shaw (Bluff City Law), Keshet Studios and Universal Television.

A 22-year-old California driver with a prior impaired-driving arrest was being held Tuesday night following a suspected DUI crash in Newport Beach that left a young couple dead and their three young children critically injured, according to reports.  Authorities said the suspect, Grace Elizabeth Coleman, 22, of Newport Beach, tried to walk away from the scene before she was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.

Despite some bigger names and some returning series that already have dedicated fans, November isn’t a big month for new television series. It would seem that the film side is picking up the slack, while things are slowing down (for now) in television.
