Cardi B Throws Microphone at Idiot Who Hurled a Drink at Her During Concert

Jem Aswad Executive Editor, Music One of the more mind-blowingly idiotic trends in an era full of them is the recent spate of audience members throwing things at performers during concerts. In the past few weeks alone, Bebe Rexha was almost knocked out cold by a fan throwing a cellphone at her head in New York, Harry Styles was hit with an unidentified object in Vienna, and Latto responded to a similar projectile in Germany by saying “Want your ass beat?” Saturday in Las Vegas, Cardi B proved yet again that she is not someone to trifle with: During a performance at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas, an audience member threw a drink at the rapper while she performed her breakthrough hit, “Bodak Yellow.” A second later Cardi — who is apparently a lefty — instantly retaliated by hurling her microphone back at the offending “fan.” The video shows the person being escorted out by security; after hurling some doubtless colorful words at the offender, Cardi apparently left the stage after the incident.

Clubbers warned as red alert issued in Ibiza and Balearic Islands due to wildfires

Mixmag).Spain’s meteorological agency has declared that the southern tip of Majorca – which is within close proximity to popular holiday spots Magaluf, Palmanova and Santa Ponsa is on “extreme alert”, while the eastern side is at “extreme risk” of wildfires.Islands Ibiza and Menorca have been placed on “high alert”, while those living on the Greek island of Corfu have already been issued with evacuation notices, following concerns that wildfires may be imminent. The warnings come on the heels of the ongoing wildfires across Europe in recent weeks, and following 19,000 being evacuated from the Greek Island of Rhodes over the past few days.As reported by BBC News, Greece is one of numerous countries currently grappling with wildfires, and so far over 40 people have died due to the conditions.Southern parts of Italy have also been heavily impacted, with fires in Sicily and Puglia being worsened by dry lands and high winds. In a new assessment, scientists have concluded that climate change caused by human behaviour is largely responsible for the alarming heatwaves, and determined that it is an “alarmingly overwhelming” factor (via Evening Standard). This is far from the first time that wildfires and extreme weather conditions have interfered with upcoming music events across Europe in recent years.Last year, Pearl Jam were forced to cancel their show in Vienna after frontman Eddie Vedder‘s throat was damaged by wildfires in France.“To all those who were anticipating a great Pearl Jam show tonight in Vienna, we were too.

‘Dr. Semmelweis’ Review: Mark Rylance’s Compelling Performance Outshines an Overworked Bio-Drama

David Benedict All the elements are there: a forgotten but fascinatingly tragic, true-life story about a world-changing medical discovery that saved the lives of millions; a large-cast, grand-scale production including dancers and onstage musicians; and Mark Rylance on stage in a no-hold-barred performance. Yet despite remarkably fierce energy from everyone involved, most particularly Rylance, the bio-drama “Dr. Semmelweis” ultimately proves more enervating than exciting. You would be forgiven for thinking that this play about a maverick, misunderstood savior in the middle of a public health crisis was a direct response to recent world events. In fact, workshops that formed the foundation of the play, the brainchild of Rylance and director Tom Morris (co-director of “War Horse”), predated the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonetheless, the events of very recent history adds considerable perspective to an already important story, dramatized here by Stephen Brown and Rylance and set in the middle of the 19th century.

Billie Eilish discusses the “infuriating” trend of fans throwing objects at performers: “We get it, but don’t do it”

Billie Eilish has weighed in her thoughts on fans throwing objects at artists onstage – labelling the trend as “infuriating”.The trend is one that has gathered rapid momentum in recent months, with numerous high-profile artists experiencing fans throwing items at them while they play live. The most prolific example occurred last month, when pop singer Bebe Rexha was left needing stitches after a member of the audience hurled a phone at her during her set. After the singer was filmed dropping to her knees in pain when the device hit her in the face, it was later revealed that the audience member threw it because he believed it “would be funny”.A similar incident happened to both Harry Styles, who was hit in the face during his Vienna concert, and Ava Max, who was slapped in the face by someone who ran onto the stage during a gig in Los Angeles.

Taylor Swift Adds a Sixth Night to Her Run at SoFi Stadium in August

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic With Taylor Swift already having announced international legs of her Eras Tour that will keep her busy for most of 2024, it would have seemed like she was long done adding any extra dates to the U.S. tour that wraps up in just over six weeks. But she is working in a single additional show after all, at the L.A. area’s SoFi Stadium, extending what was a five-night stand at that massive venue to six concerts. The added date is Aug. 7, two nights before her North American tour comes to an official climax at the stadium on Aug. 9. Eight additional shows for the European leg of the tour next year have also been announced, with added dates in London, Paris, Stockholm, Zurich, Hamburg, Munich, Warsaw and Vienna.
