Seattle International Film Festival has revealed its lineup for the 50th edition, which takes place May 9–19 at venues across Seattle and followed by a week of select virtual screenings on the SIFF Channel May 20–27. The program includes 261 films representing 84 countries and regions, including 92 features, 47 documentaries, five archival features, two special tributes, two secret screenings and 115 short films. The festival will open with Josh Margolin’s action comedy “Thelma” from Magnolia Pictures, which will screen at the Paramount Theatre during SIFF’s opening night on May 9.

Charli XCX and Troye Sivan have announced “Charli XCX & Troye Sivan Present: Sweat”, their joint 2024 North American tour.XCX and Sivan are set to co-headline the tour with opening support from Shygirl for all of the dates. The movie played last week as the opening film at the Hong Kong Film Festival. “All Shall Be Well” chronicles the lives of two women, Angie and Pat, a couple living in Hong Kong who have been together for over four decades.

The BBC are set to release a brand new hour-long documentary to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of Kurt Cobain.The Nirvana frontman who took his own life on April 5, 1994, will be celebrated in a range of content aired across television and radio by the BBC – including a Saturday night of programmes dedicated to the singer, a documentary titled Moments That Shook Music: Kurt Cobain will air on BBC Two and iPlayer.According to a press release, the documentary will be “told exclusively through powerful and rare archive footage,” providing a “visceral account of the days that surrounded that tragic moment” when Cobain took his own life.During the final years of his life, Cobain had struggled with drug addiction and depression. Following an overdose in Rome in March 1994 and a subsequent intervention, Cobain died by suicide at his Seattle home on April 8.
