Netflix announce ‘You’ season five as showrunner confirms it will be Joe Goldberg’s final goodbye

Netflix has announced You will be renewed for a fifth season, however, it will spell the end of Joe Goldberg’s story.Announcing the news on Friday (March 24), the streaming giant confirmed that the smash-hit thriller would grant Joe Goldberg one final outing to finish his story. This is something that was in line with how the show’s creative team “always conceived it [the show] as a five-season journey”.Recapping the end of season four, a press releases teases a new and dangerous adventure for Joe, stating: “There across the pond, the genre-hopping drama threw him into a one-percent skewering whodunit that forced him to finally accept he’s not a good man — an undeniable truth he avoided for far too long.“At the season’s conclusion, Joe returned to New York City with his wealthy partner Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) and a dangerous new lease on life — a life he’s finally admitted is fundamentally immoral, something that Badgley is excited about exploring.”“I think it sets us up to actually have a really great finale season,” Badgley is quoted as saying.

‘You’ Renewed by Netflix for Fifth and Final Season

Kate Aurthur editor Hello again, “You”! On Friday, Netflix announced that “You” — its hit thriller starring Penn Badgley as the prolific serial killer Joe Goldberg — has been renewed for a fifth and final season. Season 5 will have a change of showrunners, with executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo taking over for Sera Gamble, who originally developed “You” with Greg Berlanti, and ran the show for its first four seasons. “As I step back from day-to-day showrunning to focus on new projects, I’m immensely grateful to co-creator and all-around genius Greg Berlanti, Caroline Kepnes, my friends at Berlanti Productions and Alloy Entertainment, and our steadfast partners at Warner Bros and Netflix,” Gamble said in a statement. “Making the show alongside our writers, producers, directors, cast and crew has been an honor and ridiculously fun. And I feel lucky to have worked with an artist as gifted and thoughtful as Penn Badgely. I’m proud of what we’ve all accomplished and feel privileged to pass the torch. I’m excited to watch and support the ‘You’ team as they bring Joe Goldberg’s journey to its delightfully twisted conclusion.”

GMB’s Piers Morgan ‘felt let down’ by Susanna Reid when he walked out of the show

Piers Morgan still feels “let down” by his former Good Morning Britain co-hosts after he controversially walked out on the ITV daytime show, a source has told us. Last week, after Gary Lineker’s Match Of The Day co-stars rallied in support when he was controversially taken off air, TalkTV host Piers, 57, tweeted, “Would have been nice to see the same solidarity.” His jibe came after a fan asked, “Piers, were you disappointed that none of your colleagues didn’t present the day after you left GMB?” The tweet was a reaction to Gary’s many colleagues, including Ian Wright and Alan Shearer, refusing to appear on the BBC sports show after the pundit was suspended for slamming the government’s new asylum policy. And now a source has claimed Piers’ pointed tweet was mainly aimed at his former co-host Susanna Reid, who soldiered on presenting GMB after Piers quit following a row over his negative comments about the Duchess of Sussex.

Penn Badgley Says Backlash Over Rejecting Sex Scenes Was ‘Blown Out of Proportion,’ Questions Why Netflix Split ‘You’ Into Two Parts

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Penn Badgley ignited a fiery social media debate in February when he revealed that he now refuses to act in sex scenes. “That aspect of Hollywood has always been very disturbing to me — and that aspect of the job, that mercurial boundary — has always been something that I actually don’t want to play with at all,” he told Variety just as the fourth season of his Netflix serial killer show “You” was launching. “It’s important to me in my real life to not have them,” Badgley added about swearing off sex scenes. “My fidelity in my relationship. It’s important to me. And actually, [sex scenes] was one of the reasons that I initially wanted to turn the role down [in ‘You’]. I didn’t tell anybody that. But that is why.”

‘The Last of Us’ Used Real, Trained Giraffes and an Abandoned Hospital in Season Finale

Jazz Tangcay Artisans Editor SPOILER ALERT: This contains spoilers from the Season 1 finale of “The Last of Us,” now streaming on HBO Max. Sunday’s season finale of “The Last of Us” tackled two of the video games most famous scenes: the giraffe moment and the final hospital shootout. Joel (Pedro Pascal) shoots his way through the Salt Lake City hospital as he upholds his commitment to saving Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and chooses her life over the future of humanity. In the final minutes of the episode, Joel decides to take Ellie away from the hospital, where her immunity to the deadly cordyceps fungus could’ve provided a cure, but in performing the operation, she would’ve died. Amid a hail of bullets from Firefly soldiers, Joel makes his choice to take Ellie back to Jackson, Wyo., and massacres nearly everyone in the hospital.
