Manchester United moved to within a point of the top four with an impressive 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
Second-half goals from Fred, who produced an outstanding display in the centre of midfield, and Bruno Fernandes secured a deserved win for Erik ten Hag's side, who dominated from the very first whistle. They were outstanding in every aspect of their play and should have won by an even greater margin.
United set their stall out from the off, making it their mission to set a high tempo and press Spurs relentlessly. Ten Hag's decision to bring Marcus Rashford back into the starting line-up at the expense of Cristiano Ronaldo was fully justified.

Working in tandem with Jadon Sancho and Antony at the top end of the pitch, Rashford led United's pressing game, being joined by the likes of Fred and Fernandes behind him. Fred, who was blasted by no shortage of fans during Sunday's draw with Newcastle United, was absolutely outstanding and deserved his goal just two minutes into the second half.
Fernandes was also superb, producing his most eye-catching display of the season so far. And it was fitting that he marked the occasion with a goal, bringing his long wait for an Old Trafford strike to an end, with his last coming in the 3-0 win over Brentford in May.
Fernandes, rightfully so, raced away to celebrate his sumptuous right-footed curler before being mobbed by his United teammates. However, fellow midfielder Casemiro did not chase after his teammate to celebrate, instead choosing to sink to his knees in the centre of the pitch.
