As barbecues go, we usually keep things cheap and cheerful. A few burgers, some sausages, perhaps some chicken, nothing too fancy.
Previously I would have avoided anywhere like Marks & Spencer, which was always notorious for selling more expensive food.
However, in recent times, the retailer's become known for its budget buys, particularly in its Remarksable range, which has pulled in a raft of new customers amid the cost of living crisis.

Its 3 for £12 mix and match 'Barbecue Heroes' offer got us off to a good start, with everything from BBQ Chicken Flatties and Smoky Cheese and Onion Beef Burgers, to Korean Style BBQ Chicken Kebabs and a pack of 12 Posh Puppies sausages, which - served inside the Mini White Submarine Rolls - were perfect for the kids.
There was one product in particular that everyone was fighting (and drooling) over - and for a good reason. Yet ironically, these need cooking in the oven or grill, rather than your barbie.
The Hog Roast Doughnut Burgers are, as the name suggests, doughnut shaped pork burgers with a seasoned crumb and sweet chilli jam.
If you like sausages, you're going to love these. The pork and apple flavour filling teams perfectly with the chilli jam poured over from the separate sachet.
It's with more unusual products like this where M&S really comes into its own and, if you're wanting something different for your barbie this summer, I'd highly recommend these beauties.
The other stand-out product was the Rump Steak Kebabs with a BBQ Beef Marrow Glaze. Not the cheapest, at £12.50, but there was plenty to share between four adults and made a delicious filling for the Greek Style Flatbreads.
