Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor Trevor Noah is moving from being in front of the camera at “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central to a weekly comedy program on Amazon Freevee that has him working behind the scenes. The ad-supported streaming service will offer a U.S. version of the long-running British series “Mock The Week,” a half-hour program that combines elements from talk shows. stand-up comedy sessions and improv games and sets two teams of comics against each other in a bid to satirize current news events and popular culture. Noah, who left “The Daily Show” late last year, will executive produce the series, along with Dan Patterson, who helped create “Mock The Week,” which has run in the United Kingdom for more than 15 years.

Having waved goodbye to Carpool Karaoke earlier in the week, James Corden brought the curtain down on his stint as host of The Late Late Show on Thursday night. Corden was joined during the finale by Tom Cruise, Will Ferrell, and Harry Styles.

The show moved up 77% from its season-to-date Live+Same Day average. Additionally, the 10pm primetime special, “THE Last Last Late Late Show with James Corden Carpool Karaoke” brought in 3.65 total viewers — that’s up 32% from the last “Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke” primetime special, which aired in May 2019. In his last hoorah, Corden took the time to say his goodbyes to several stars who’ve graced his show in the past including Tom Cruise and Adele. He opened the final show with a rendition of “Last Show” (to the tune of “Last Dance”), and a quick opening monologue, before jumping into the final pre-taped scene with Cruise showing their performance of “The Lion King” at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. He also had visits from guests Harry Styles and Will Ferrell, who both played “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts” and destroyed “The Late Late Show” desk.

A video clip of the duo's drive to work, in which they took part in the show's Carpool Karaoke, began with Adele telling James that she's "actually not a brilliant driver." She then added that she can't sing without closing her eyes, which, considering they were about to start karaoke could have been cause for concern.
