Two charged with attempted murder after boy, 16, seriously injured in Eccles shooting

Five men have been charged after a shooting in Eccles left a teenage boy with serious injuries.
Aiden Broadhurst, 28, and Kyle Meighan, 30, have both been charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder following the incident in Higher Croft on March 19.
Three other men - Jaieh Sufyaan, Andrew Whiteside, and and Philip Broadhurst have also been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. The five were remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Friday (May 26).

Police believe the boy was shot at while riding his motorbike. He was rushed to hospital with arm injuries following the shooting.
Greater Manchester Police said: "These charges are a result of an investigation by GMP’s Major Incident Team into a firearms discharge in Eccles during March 2023 where a 16-year-old boy suffered serious, but thankfully not life-threatening injuries."
Aiden Broadhurst, of Manchester Road, Salford, and Kyle Meighan, of Chancel Avenue, Ordsall, will both appear in court charged with charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Jaieh Sufyaan, 34, of Pyrus Close, Eccles; Andrew Whiteside, 28, of Bradley Green Road, Hyde; and Philip Broadhurst, 27, of Boddington Road, Eccles will appear charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
