Manchester United are putting early plans in place for the summer transfer window and their line-up could be close to unstoppable if they complete two dream signings.
After bringing in nine players, either permanently or on loan, during his first season at the helm, Erik ten Hag is hoping to add two major recruits when the market reopens. He wants another central midfielder as well as a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
England captain Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are being tracked in that regard, while high-profile targets for the engine room include Frenkie de Jong, Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham. However, there are several moving parts when it comes to those would-be pursuits and Ten Hag will have alternative options.

Given how publicly United chased De Jong last summer - before he opted to stay put with Barcelona amid his well-documented contract situation - you would expect Ten Hag to yet again come calling for his Ajax protégé. De Jong would be some partner for the colossal Casemiro.
In attacking quarters, Kane would offer a little more versatility than Osimhen and he would also come Premier League proven. Here are three ways United could line-up next campaign on the proviso they add De Jong and Kane to their squad following an initial rebuild last summer:
