Sophia Scorziello editor Brett Hadley, soap actor who starred as Carl Williams for two decades on “The Young and the Restless,” has died. He was 92. Hadley died on Thursday at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, according to his friend Darcy Lee. “We talked about movies and art.. and we laughed a lot! He even made me laugh on his death bed,” wrote Lee in a post. “He waited to pass tonight until my show was over and I walked out of the theatre. He took his last bow as I got into the car to come home. I will miss you terribly Brett Hadley – and thank you for being in my life.”

QTY, has died.News of the musician’s death was shared on The Lemonheads‘ Facebook page this week with the caption: “Life is short and unforgiving.“RIP Dan Lardner, we will forever love you.”The news was accompanied by a photo of Lardner hugging The Lemonheads frontman Evan Dando.The QTY musician was Dando’s guest of honour when the latter opened for Psychedelic Furs on their recent US tour.No further details about the cause of death have been shared.Lardner performed guitar and vocals in indie rock band QTY, alongside Alex Niemetz (guitar/vocals), Peter Baumann (bass), and Alan Yuch (drums).The New York group started in 2014 and signed to Dirty Hit Records, releasing their self-titled debut album in 2017, produced by former Suede member Bernard Butler.In 2017, NME described QTY as “New York’s most exciting new band”, before they were featured on the NME 100 list in 2018, describing their sound as “guitar-pop at its most catchy” that “follows in the long line of bands from New York who sound oh so very much like they’re from New York”.“There was a point in the studio where Alex and I wanted to play around a bit and Bernard told us we knew what we wanted to do with the songs – which we did, we knew what we wanted to do with them before we got into the studio – so we didn’t need to [do that],” Dan told NME back in 2017.

John Hopewell Chief International Correspondent ANNECY —  In what looks like one of the biggest announcements at this year’s Annecy Animation Festival, Disney Branded Television has greenlit a new animated series for preschoolers, “Disney Junior’s Ariel,” inspired by the hugely popular story of “The Little Mermaid.”  The announcement is set to be made today by Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, during the Annecy Animation Festival, at a new project and sneak peak picked presentation across the upcoming slate of Disney Branded Television and Disney EMEA titles. The new series follows a young Ariel and features fan-favorite characters, including King Triton, Ursula, Sebastian and Flounder, as well as exciting new additions. “Disney Junior’s Ariel” is set to debut on Disney platforms worldwide in 2024.

Sophia Scorziello editor Mike Batayeh, actor and comedian known for his role in “Breaking Bad” as the manager of Gus’s notorious laundromat, has died. He was 52. Batayeh died on June 1 of a heart attack while asleep in his Michigan home, said his family in a statement. “It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that my sisters and I announce the passing of our dear brother,” his family said. “He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and his great ability to bring laughter and joy to so many.” Batayeh starred in three episodes of AMC’s “Breaking Bad” as Dennis Markowski, manager of Lavanderia Brillante laundromat, which doubled as a meth lab for Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

Ella Thomas joined the cast of Love Island and quickly revealed that her biggest claim to fame was starring in a music video.The model, 23 starred in the video with Headie One and Burna Boy when she was 12 years old and has also met Brad Pitt. Actor Sergio Calderón, best known for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean and Men in Black, has passed away at the age of 77, his spokesperson has announced. He died of natural causes, surrounded by his family in a Los Angeles hospital. Sergio made his film debut in the 1970 film The Bridge in the Jungle, and he later played bandit Malavida Valdése on the pilot episode of The A-Team in 1983, returning to the show as pirate El Cajón for its third season in 1984.
