The publication’s nominations are for: entertainment website (in the general websites and mobile sites category); editorial writing (in the features and design category); Variety Power of Women 2022 (under events and livestreams in the general video category); and Variety’s TikTok explainer video series (in the how-to, explainer and DIY social video category). The annual awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS), recognize excellence on the internet and span video, social media, websites, apps, games, VR and podcasts.

Naman Ramachandran BAFTA-winning producer Patrick Spence is leaving ITV Studios after three years, Variety has confirmed. Spence, who serves as creative director, will leave at the end of March, ITV Studios managing director Julian Bellamy told staff via an internal memo on Thursday. Spence will continue to partner with ITV Studios on upcoming projects including “People vs. Post Office” (working title). Spence joined ITV Studios in 2020 and secured several acclaimed commissions, including the BBC’s drama-romance “Ralph & Katie,” a spin-off of “The A Word,” about the lives of a couple with Down syndrome; ITVX’s “Litvinenko,” about the investigation into the death of Russian defector Alexander Litvinenko; the BAFTA-nominated Cold War spy drama “A Spy Among Friends,” also for ITVX; and post-pandemic frontline medical drama “Maternal” for ITV.

“Tár” director Todd Field says he may never make another feature film — despite rave reviews for the recent Cate Blanchett drama, which he also penned and produced. Field, 59, got candid about the next stage of his career in a recent interview with Cinema Scope, revealing that it’s “highly likely” he’s done with directing. “There’s a real challenge in making a film of any size,” he explained.

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Ahead of the Broadway opening of his new “Camelot” musical adaptation, Aaron Sorkin revealed to the New York Times that he suffered a stroke last November. The medical emergency occurred two months before “Camelot” rehearsals were set to begin and resulted in his blood pressure being so high that “you’re supposed to be dead,” Sorkin said. As reported by The Times: “For about a month afterward, [Sorkin] was slurring words. He had trouble typing; he was discouraged from flying for a few weeks; and until recently, he couldn’t sign his name (he has just discovered, thanks to ‘Camelot’ autograph seekers, that that’s improving). Those issues are now behind him, and the main lingering effect is that he still can’t really taste food.”

BAFTA has pulled the curtain back on its Television Awards nominations, and This Is Going To Hurt and The Responder are leading the chase for a famous bronze mask.

The nominees for the 2023 Latin American Music Awards have been unveiled.

Latin American Music Awards is a month away on April 20th. The list of nominations is here, which are based on “key fan interactions with music, including streaming, sales, airplay, touring, and social activity tracked by Billboard through its data partners Luminate for data covering the periods of Feb 12, 2022, to Feb 4, 2023.” Bad Bunny is leading the nominations with 11, while Daddy Yankee and Becky G follow with 9.

A few notable stars were not included in the In Memoriam segment at the 2023 Academy Awards.

The Oscars’ annual In Memoriam segment on Sunday included a live performance of the song “Calling All Angels” by Lenny Kravitz.

The “winners” have been announced for the 2023 Razzie Awards.

Ahead of Sunday’s Academy Awards celebrating the year’s greatest achievements in film, the 43rd annual Razzies celebrated the “worst” actors and movies. This year’s Razzie nominations were mired in controversy about the award body nominating 12-year-old actor Ryan Kiera Armstrong from “Firestarter” in January. After the internet erupted, the Razzies apologized, removed Armstrong from the ballot and introduced an age limit of 18 for future nominations. The Razzies put itself on the ballot, replacing Armstrong, and won in a landslide. In the awards video, “Razz Berry” said “Until our next mistake, cheers!,” accepting the dishonor.
