Homes and businesses across Greater Manchester have reportedly been hit by two power cuts. More than 1,000 properties in total are affected by the incidents this morning (March 23), according to Electricity North West.

The Bolton Percy Gatehouse is a stunning timber-framed building bursting with character. From the outside it looks like something from a fairytale village, hidden among the trees.
Its grand appearance is rooted in the building's history as it originally served as the defensive entrance to the village rectory and a courtyard of mediaeval buildings. The rectory and outbuildings were rebuilt in 1698, but they were later demolished in the 19th century.

However, the gatehouse remained intact and today it is let out as a holiday home, providing guests with the ultimate historic stay. Step inside and you’ll discover a magical interior, which offers the perfect blend of original features and modern comforts.
Downstairs is a modern kitchen which has everything you would need for your visit, complete with a breakfast bar area with seating. On the ground floor you’ll also find the bathroom, which has a generous-sized shower.
Steep stairs lead you up to the breathtaking main room which has a gorgeous vaulted ceiling and beautiful exposed beams - look out for intricate details carved into them. The upstairs features an open-plan dining, living and sleeping area.
There’s a large wooden dining table at one end of the room, where you can dine like the lord and lady of the manor. In the centre of the room is a lounge
