IFC Films has released the first official trailer for the upcoming comedy-drama film, “BlackBerry,” which provides a peek into exactly how the handheld device revolutionized the cell phone industry. Director Matt Johnson, along with co-screenwriter Matthew Miller, adapted Jacquie McNish and Sean Silcoff’s book “Losing the Signal: The Untold Story Behind the Extraordinary Rise and Spectacular Fall of BlackBerry” for the big screen. Johnsonplays BlackBerry co-founder Douglas Fregin in the film, alongside Glenn Howerton as chair and co-CEO Jim Balsillie, Jay Baruchel as co-founder Mike Lazaridis and Cary Elwes as Palm CEO Carl Yankowski. The cast also includes Saul Rubinek, Michael Ironside, Rich Sommer, Michelle Giroux, Mark Critch and SungWon Cho.

Viewers outside the Continental sphere of Sisi-mania may only have registered one of those films, Marie Kreutzer’s chic, subversive anti-biopic “Corsage,” which might make the second, German director Frauke Finsterwalder’s lush, irreverent “Sisi & I,” seem to them a too-soon spare — coincidentally repeating several tricks from Kreutzer’s anachronistic playbook with its modern feminist inflections, contemporary soundtrack cues and sensational fashions, albeit with plenty of its own panache.

Michael Lockwood has formally asked the court to appoint him as guardian ad litem so he can represent his twin daughters' interest in Lisa Marie Presley's trust battle.According to legal docs, obtained by ET, Lockwood filed the legal documents in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Thursday and said he should be appointed as the guardian to represent 14-year-old twin daughters Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood in an upcoming hearing in probate court, which is slated for April 13.In the documents, Lockwood notes he wants to officially be appointed as the twins' guardian because «the minor is a beneficiary of a trust at issue before the probate court in the above-referenced case. The minor requires appointment of a guardian ad litem to represent her interests in the proceeding.»He added, «There is no conflict regarding appointment because the proposed guardian is not a beneficiary of the trust instrument at issue.»Harper and Finely each signed the form consenting to Lockwood being their guardian.This is the latest development in Lisa Marie's ongoing trust battle.

Canadian actor Michael Mando, known for his roles in “Better Call Saul” and “Orphan Black”, has been let go from Apple TV+ series “Sinking Spring”.

Wagner Moura (Narcos) is set to star opposite Brian Tyree Henry in Apple TV+’s crime drama series Sinking Spring, from Top Gun: Maverick writer Peter Craig. He is replacing Better Call Saul alum Michael Mando who had been originally tapped for the role but has been let go after an on-set incident involving a cast member. The recasting is done during filming on the series, directed and executive produced by Ridley Scott via his Scott Free Productions.

Brigitte Hobmeier stars as Lucia, a physician who with her husband and children moves to the village, where she is replacing the local doctor, who is retiring. Things take a troubling turn when her daughter is visited by a strange woman at night. The series presentation at the EFM event brings the title back to Berlin, where it came together in 2020 at the Berlinale Co-Production Market’s Co-Pro Series event.

Holly Jones The stars are aligning on political thriller “The Chauffeur’s Son,” a six-part series from acclaimed Spanish creative duo Isaki Lacuesta and Isa Campo.  It is one of five projects that has pulled down a muscular €1.5 million ($1.6 million) grant from Catalonia’s ICEC film-TV aimed at ensuring potential production partners that the series can bring series money to the table. It comes after the two which won two Golden Shells at San Sebastian, for “The Double Steps” (2011) and “Between Two Waters” (2018), have demonstrated their chops for directing broad audience drama series, directing and in Campo’s case writing two episodes in Movistar+’s series “Offworld,” a Variety 2022 Best International TV Series.
