Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Aziz Ansari is making his feature directorial debut with “Good Fortune,” a comedy whose plot is shrouded in secrecy. Lionsgate has landed rights to the film, which will be written and directed by Ansari. The comedian, who is also starring in “Good Fortune,” has assembled the high-wattage cast of Seth Rogen and Keanu Reeves. Since the logline is being kept under wraps, it’s unclear who the actors are playing in the movie. The production has been greenlit and will start principal photography next month in Los Angeles. Around the same time, Lionsgate is launching sales in Cannes Film Festival.

BreAnna Bell Onyx Collective’s “Reasonable Doubt” has been renewed for Season 2 and will be bringing in Morris Chestnut (“The Best Man”) as a series regular, Variety has confirmed. Chestnut will play charming, media-savvy defense attorney Corey Cash, whose client roster is typically full of underdogs. After bringing Corey in to help on a high-profile case, Jax learns he could threaten her standing at the firm. The series follows Los Angeles-based criminal defense attorney, Jax Stewart (Emayatzy Corinealdi) as she faces untapped trauma from her past, her struggling marriage, motherhood, and how she manages to juggle it all while maintaining her polished career. In addition to Corinealdi, Angela Grovey, Tim Jo, McKinley Freeman, Aderinsola Olabode and Thaddeus J. Mixson also star.

He’s the greatest. He’s the prince. And those eyes. He could be so naked, so exposed, and he’s funny. More successfully it acts as a winning introductory calling card to the acting and musical talents of its rising star, the slightly-older sister of upcoming “The Little Mermaid” actor Halle Bailey and one-half of the sibling R&B duo Chloe x Halle. The story starts with Sam forced to leave Los Angeles by her dad because of some rebellious behavior. He entrusts her care to her aunt and uncle (Kendrick Cross and Janora McDuffie), but the person who takes full charge of Sam’s new life in Atlanta is her cousin Jess (Anjelika Washington). Immediately calling her a sister-cousin and introducing Sam to her life, friends and choir practice, Jess is the type of relative most people try to avoid, driven away by their too boisterous enthusiasm. Ever the smart person, it doesn’t take long for Sam to realize that joining Jess’ praise team in the lead-up to a national championship competition might be her way out of Atlanta and into a successful musical career. And so an odd-couple friendship is born.

While what happened next is unclear, Lynn apparently fell out of a van driven by Bowskill.
