Pupils from schools in and around a Lanarkshire town have brightened up a dull pedestrian underpass with a fantastic artwork.
A splash of colour has been added to the walls on the walkway which joins two roads in the Seafar area of Cumbernauld.
The uplifting mural was created by as partnership of students from Carbrain, Eastfield, Westfield, Condorrat, Ravenswood, Woodlands, and Baird Memorial primary schools, and S6 pupils from Greenfaulds High, Our Ladies High, Cumbernauld Acdemy and Kilsyth Academy, and contributes to their work in obtaining the Mark Scott Leadership for Life Award, a personal development programme delivered by the Outward Bound Trust.

The public art project also had the support of the Scottish Government.
Councillor Adam Smith, who represents the Cumbernauld East ward praised the pupils’ sterling design on social media and posted pics of their work.
He said: “Thanks go to all of the pupils, volunteers, and supporters, including Seafar and Ravenswood Community Council, in particular Ellie and Leo from Our Lady’s High School, Caitlyn and Beth from Cumbernauld Academy, Erin from Greenfaulds High School, and James from Kilsyth Academy.”
A spokesman for North Lanarkshire Council added: “Several young people from our local secondary schools worked with primary pupils as part of Mark Scott Leadership for Life Award, to lead on the design of the underpass.
"The project encouraged young people to take pride in their local community whilst allowing senior pupils to develop their leadership skills.
"This project highlights the very talented pupils we have in the area – well done to everyone
