Strictly's Amy Dowden thanks pros for "amazing" support following cancer diagnosis

Amy Dowden has thanked her Strictly Come Dancing professional co-stars for rallying behind her following her cancer diagnosis. The professional dancer, who first joined the BBC One dance competition in 2017, recently announced she has breast cancer. "The pros have been amazing," Dowden told Hello! about the outpouring of support she's been receiving since sharing the news last week.

Dowden's husband, pro dancer Benjamin Jones, said friends and family have been crucial in the last few weeks. "Amy has had a lot to deal with in her life and, as I expected, has shown great resilience in the past couple of weeks," he said.
"We are both surrounded by lots of family and friends who are going to be an important support to us in the coming months. "We are both staying very positive and remain optimistic moving forward. "I've been through quite a lot in my life and this is another hurdle," Amy told Hello! after revealing the news. "But if I'm positive and strong, I've got a really good chance of getting back out on the dancefloor as soon as possible.
