Forecasters have predicted days of sleet and snow for Manchester as early as next week, with temperatures expected to drop to as low as -2. Reports have suggested the possible upcoming bout of snow is a result of major sudden stratospheric warming.
According to the seven day forecast by BBC Weather, the region could see periods of snow fall on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday next week.
The news comes as the Met Office warned Brits of the upcoming cold weather, with parts of the nation expected to be blanketed in the white stuff as early as next week.

The forecast for Manchester predicts below freezing temperatures, with lows of -2 expected on Tuesday (March 7). The temperatures could plummet to 0 and 1 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.

Tuesday 7th
Sleet showers and light winds expected. Highs of 5C and lows of -2C.
Wednesday 8th
Light snow and winds expected. Highs of 5C and lows of 0C.

Friday 10th
Light rain showers and light winds. Highs of 8C and lows of 3C.
Saturday 11th
Sleet showers and a gentle breeze predicted. Highs of 9C and lows of 7C.

Light rain showers and a gentle breeze expected. Highs of 10C and lows of 6C.
