Why Harry Styles Was Not Cast as Eric in Live-Action 'Little Mermaid,' According to Director Rob Marshall

Harry Styles may not be playing Prince Eric in the live-action remake of , but he's always a king in our hearts! While it was long-rumored that the «As It Was» singer could be taking on the role of Ariel's prince, the part ultimately went to Jonah Hauer-King, and the film's director, Ron Marshall, is explaining why in a new interview with .While Marshall confirmed he spoke with Styles about playing Eric «once upon a time,» he shared that the  star «really felt like he wanted to go off and do the movies that he ended up doing, which were sort of darker» than Disney's reimagining of one of its most beloved fairy tales. As for Hauer-King, Marshall said the British actor, who previously appeared in PBS' 2017  miniseries, came with a «sweetness» and «deep passion» that he was looking for in the film's prince., who also spoke to Hauer-King and Ariel herself, Halle Bailey, noted that three other people were up for the part of Eric.«I didn't take her being kind to me as any indication,» Hauer-King recalled of his final audition round with Bailey. «I just assumed she was a lovely person and would've done that for anyone.»After returning to his trailer from the audition, Hauer-King told the outlet he heard a knock at his door.

Wild Bunch International Renames Itself as Goodfellas

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Wild Bunch International, the sales company behind “Titane” and “Happening” (pictured), has renamed itself as Goodfellas. In a brief press release, the company said “there are no other changes to the structure created in 2019.” Wild Bunch International was launched in 2019 as a standalone sales company by French film industry veterans Vincent Maraval and Brahim Chioua. The pair had previously co-founded Wild Bunch, which is now owned by German entrepreneur Lars Windhorst and ran by former NBCUniversal vice chairman Ron Meyer and former beIN Media Group executive Sophie Jordan. Wild Bunch International was created shortly after Wild Bunch completed its restructuring plan. Under their three-year deal, Wild Bunch had a minority stake in the new banner and allowed it to use the Wild Bunch brand. The three-year pact ended in November and the two companies no longer have corporate ties. But Goodfellas said it will continue working with Wild Bunch on select project through a new deal.

‘Yellowjackets’ Season 2 Review: Show’s Cast Is Better Than Ever, but We Can Skip the Supernatural Mystery

“Yellowjackets” definitely hit a nerve with its inspired combination of “Now and Then,” “Lord of the Flies” and “Alive”; the series quickly became one of Showtime’s most successful ever, with about 5 million viewers tuning in each week. The inspired premise of a group of plane crash survivors — told in the “then” and “now” — was only enhanced by the stellar cast who brought it to life, like Melanie Lynskey as Shauna, now a suburban mom and housewife with homicidal impulses; Juliette Lewis as the edgy, extremely damaged grown-up Natalie; and Christina Ricci as the obsessive Misty, who was basically to blame for the entire disaster, as her teenage self (Samantha Hanratty) was enjoying the camaraderie of the girls’ life in the wild so much that she destroyed the plane’s black box to prevent the team from getting rescued in the first place. The “Yellowjackets” casting team deserves all the awards, as the older and younger versions of the main characters match up seamlessly.
