New York City data shows rat sightings have spiked.  According to FOX 5, rodent sightings are up 70% from the same time two years ago.  More than 21,500 sightings were reported to the Big Apple's 3-1-1 service request line between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30.  That number has risen by 18,601 rat calls from last year.

A bus carrying 36 migrants arrived in Washington, D.C., Thursday morning outside Vice President Kamala Harris' home. Additionally, three more buses dropped off migrants at the Port Authority transit hub in New York City. Harris' residence at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C., has become a recurring destination for migrants being transported out of border states to sanctuary cities.

The State of New York is calling on its Air National Guard members for help as bus loads of migrants continue to arrive in New York City daily. "Asylum seekers have arrived in New York City (NYC) over recent months from Nations in Central and South America," reads a memo seeking Air National Guard Volunteers that was obtained by Fox News Digital.

The New York State Department of Health has discovered more evidence of polio in NYC wastewater.  Officials noted that 63 of 70 wastewater samples discovered last week were linked to a polio case of a 20-year-old male from Rockland County.The individual has since developed paralysis in his legs, according to the state health department.  Most of the samples were found in Rockland. Still, officials also collected others all over the state, including Orange County, Sullivan County, and Nassau County, and one sample was found in Brooklyn.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott criticized New York City Mayor Eric Adams over the ticketing of buses carrying migrants from his state to the so-called sanctuary city, following a state of emergency declaration in the Big Apple amid the influx.

Officials in New York City say that a man jumped from a luxury hotel in Times Square on Friday, which was being planned by Mayor Eric Adams to be used to house migrants. A spokesperson for the New York City Police Department said that officers responded to a 911 call of an unconscious person on Friday at 11:24 a.m. When officers arrived on the scene, the spokesperson said that a 38-year-old man was found in front of the Row hotel and said that he had injuries "indicative from a fall from an elevated position." Emergency medical workers pronounced the man dead.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Friday said that the migrant "crisis" that the Big Apple is facing will cost the city at least $1 billion by the end of the fiscal year — as he declared a state of emergency and again appealed for federal aid and for other states to help. "My fellow New Yorkers, we are in a crisis situation," the Democratic mayor said on Friday.

The documentary examines Black cultural achievement in the 1960s and ’70s and debunks the notion that Black cinema in that period only meant Blaxploitation films.
