An Asda store was locked down with shoppers inside as a gang of youths tried to force their way inside.
The incident took place at the store in Chesser, Edinburgh on Thursday, June 8 at around midnight after staff sounded an emergency alarm, reports Edinburgh Live.
The workers at the Asda had recognised the unruly mob of teenagers and took evasive action, which led to the supermarket being locked down until officers arrived at the scene.
Images from the scene show police cars outside the store and confused shoppers inside behind locked doors.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers attended due to an alarm having sounded. There was no complaint made and no criminality was established."
An Asda spokesperson confirmed the incident and that police were called to help with the situation.
Several arrests were made on Wednesday, May 17, after cops were called following reports of antisocial behaviour.
Sergeant Mark Coull said: "We know that anti-social behaviour of youths in our local communities causes concern.
"We have increased patrols in the area and a number of youths have consequently been arrested and charged. We continue to work with partner agencies to help tackle anti-social behaviour.
“Tackling anti-social behaviour is a priority for Edinburgh police. Where instances do occur we would encourage these to be reported to officers via 101 so that we can investigate accordingly.”

It might sound like a backhanded compliment, but Downtown Owl feels more like a pilot than a feature film and may yet yield a series. In today’s market, that could work out just fine for directors Hamish Linklater and Lily Rabe, who, after a choppy start, finesse Chuck Klosterman’s digressive 2007 novel into a thoughtful, broad-canvas ensemble piece. T Bone Burnett helps nail things down with an eclectic alt-country score and soundtrack, infused with the music and spirit of Elvis Costello, but it’s Rabe that holds it all together onscreen with a controlled yet still wildly uninhibited performance.
Zack Sharf Digital News Director Chris Hemsworth told GQ UK that he’s been thinking about death a lot more lately as his forties quickly approach and in the aftermath of his “Avengers” co-star Jeremy Renner suffering a near-fatal accident in January. Renner was hospitalized with blunt chest trauma, over 30 broken bones and more after his snow plow ran him over at the start of the year. “We were all on our ‘Avengers’ text chain, we were all chatting. And it was wild,” Hemsworth said about the immediate aftermath of Renner’s accident. “None of us really knew how serious it was. I think anything like that, it’s an immediate realization of ‘Wow, any of us can go at any minute…’”
