Ronan Keating has shared a touching tribute to his late Boyzone bandmate Stephen Gately to mark 13 years since his tragic death. The singer and presenter, 45, said that it "doesn't get any easier" following Stephen's death at the age of just 33, from an undetected congenital heart defect. He was found by his husband, Andrew Cowles, in their holiday home in Port d'Andratx, Mallorca.
Posting a series of photos to Instagram on Monday 10 October, Ronan wrote: "13 years and doesn't get any easier because I know how much living ya had in ya. "Miss ya dude. A heavy heart." Ronan posted several throwback snaps of the pair during their time in the beloved boyband.
In one, the pair are performing on stage together, while another shows Boyzone meeting the now-King Charles at the Royal Variety Performance. Several celeb pals including Giovanna Fletcher, Zoe Ball, Denise Van Outen, Ryan Thomas and Peter Andre posted heart emojis under the emotional post, while many Boyzone fans also sent their love to Ronan and share how much they miss Stephen. One fan commented: "Sending hugs! He will be missed forever ! Such a talented beautiful man ! The angels gained." While another wrote: "I remember that day so clearly when the news came out.
Heartbroken doesn't cut it," with a crying emoji. Bandmate Keith Duffy also took to Instagram in tribute to Stephen, posting a photo of the pair on stage. He wrote: "13 years my guardian Angel ! I'll never meet another living soul who loved me as unconditionally and honestly as my buddy Steo! "Miss you every single day I had your brothers family with me for a Special moment last night.
