Lana Del Rey‘s father Rob Grant has shared a second preview of his debut album – listen to ‘Poetry Of Wind And Waves’ below.As announced last month, Grant will release debut album ‘Lost At Sea’ on June 9 via Decca Records. The album will feature Lana herself – real name Lizzie Grant – on the album’s title track and another song called ‘Hollywood Bowl’, while its first preview came in the form of ‘Setting Sail On A Distant Horizon’.Discussing its follow-up, ‘Poetry Of Wind And Waves’, Grant said in a statement: “The ‘Poetry Of Wind and Waves’ is a song about the rhythm of the ocean… and the hypnotic beauty of the waves as they rise and fall. When I composed this piece I was in the studio in LA, playing a beautiful concert grand..The studio was intimate and dark with soft ambient light.“I imagined myself alone on a beach with a gentle wind blowing and the sound of the waves whispering around me.

Øya Festival has announced another wave of acts for its 2023, with Lorde confirmed to appear as the Wednesday co-headliner.Sløtface, Roisin Murphy, Okay Kaya, Yo La Tengo, Viagra Boys, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, Moderat and Special Interest have also joined the line-up of the Norwegian festival, which is set to return to Oslo’s Tøyenparken for its 23rd edition from August 8-12.Already confirmed to headline will be Wizkid, Blur, Swedish singer-songwriter Håkan Hellström and Sigrid. They will be performing alongside previously announced acts such as   Devo, FKA Twigs,  Caroline Polachek, Shygirl, Amyl and The Sniffers, Obongjayar, TV GIRL, Pusha T, Susanne Sundfør.Also appearing at the festival will be Ayra Starr, Dry Cleaning, Uncle Waffles, Liv.e, Boldy James & The Alchemist, The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Oxlade, Billy Strings, Snail Mail, Domi & JD Beck, Balming Tiger, Lars Vaular, Dina Ögon, Fangst, Tigerstate, Bigbang, Malin Pettersen, and Valkyrien Allstars.The festival will again feature a 50/50 split between male and female artists while also supporting an “environmentally friendly and sustainable ethos that’s applied to every element of its organisation”.

The Who‘s Pete Townshend has released his first solo single in 29 years in the form of ‘Can’t Outrun The Truth’.The track – released today (March 24) for charity – was composed and produced by Townshend’s partner Rachel Fuller under the pseudonym Charlie Pepper. Plugg pioneer Tony Shhnow has announced a new album titled Love Streaks, coming April 28. He shared the news today (March 16) along with the project’s lead single, “ILY / IH8U.” The new track is short, sweet, and as paradoxical as its title suggests — just over 90 seconds and constantly swerving between opposite emotional poles. “I can’t pick and choose,” the Atlanta emcee raps on the song’s first and only verse, which lasts less than half a minute.

The Chemical Brothers have released a new single called ‘No Reason’ – you can listen to it below.The energetic, upbeat track marks the first material from the electronic duo – comprising Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons – since their 2021 two-song release ‘The Darkness That You Fear’.“‘No Reason’ is unmistakable and irresistible, built from a cascading melody, a heavy acid riff and a snare roll that rattles like a military tattoo,” a press release reads.The single, a highlight of the band’s recent live shows and DJ sets, was mastered in Dolby ATMOS by Beatles producer Giles Martin at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London.The track is accompanied by a surreal animated visualiser that will be familiar to anyone who saw one of The Chemical Brothers’ 2022 festival shows. Alison Goldfrapp has today announced her debut solo album ‘The Love Invention’, and dropped the synth-heavy new single ‘So Hard So Hot’.The release marks the musician’s first full release as a solo artist, following her extensive career with electronic duo Goldfrapp.Set for release on May 12, the album will see the vocalist channel her love of disco and house into an 11-track LP that captures her “forward-thinking” approach to songwriting and her “reawakening as a dancefloor priestess”.Following on from launch single ‘Digging Deeper’, the vocalist also shared her new single ‘So Hard So Hot’ – a track that captures glossy synths and an intense bassline, paired with a classic house beat.Accompanying the song is the hypnotic music video, which uses a range of AI techniques to see the vocalist pulled into her fantasy environment.“I wanted to do something that had that very clubby, acid-y feeling to it,” she said of the latest track. “But I wanted lightness to come out of the chorus – there’s tension there, as well as euphoric freedom.”According to the musician, the track seeks to reflect a mythical world that is simultaneously powerful and fragile, and represents the “instability and hope of transitional states”.Alison Goldfrapp is also set to play a series of live shows in the UK.
