Rihanna is one of the nominees for Best Original Song at the 2023 Academy Awards and you can listen to and read the lyrics for “Lift Me Up” right here!
The song is featured on the soundtrack of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
It also marked Rihanna’s first solo release since her eighth album Anti in January of 2016.
The track was written with Ludwig Göransson and Ryan Coogler, who composed the movie’s score and directed the film, as well as rising star Tems. It’s meant as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who played King T’Challa in the original Black Panther.
