EXCLUSIVE: Rialto Distribution has acquired Australia/New Zealand rights to mob thriller Bring Him To Me, which Myriad will be selling at the upcoming EFM.
Directed by Luke Sparke (Occupation), Barry Pepper (Saving Private Ryan), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under) and Liam McIntyre (The Flash) star in the film whose script is inspired by the traumatic scene in Martin Scorsese’s Casino in which Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci) unwittingly turns up for a meeting in a cornfield and things go south.
Today, we can reveal first images for the movie, which is now in post-production.
In the movie, under orders from a ruthless crime boss, a getaway driver must battle his conscience and drive a young and unsuspecting passenger to an uncertain fate. Script comes from Tom Evans.
The film also introduces actor Jamie Costa, who made social waves in 2021 with a portrayal of Robin Williams in a proof-of-concept short film for a proposed biopic, and starred in Star Wars fan film Kenobi. Cast rounds out with Jennings Brower (Netflix Dreams) and Zac Garred (Occupation: Rainfall) who is also co-producer.
Also producing are Carmel Imrie, Carly Sparke, along with Zac Garred as co-producer, and executive producers Geoff Imrie, Luke Sparke, Sean Virgin and Martin Walton.
“I’ve been fascinated by morally grey stories like Breaking Bad and Drive so when presented with the chance to dive deep into the underworld, I couldn’t resist bringing my own flavour to the genre toeing the lines of film noir and graphic novels”, said Sparke while filming in Australia last year.

Leo Barraclough International Features Editor Uncork’d Entertainment has acquired the North American rights for suspense sci-fi thriller “I’ll Be Watching” from Iuvit Media Sales at the European Film Market in Berlin. The film has also been picked up by Falcon Films in the Middle East and North Africa, while Dolphin Medien has taken German-speaking territory rights. The film is directed by Erik Bernard (“Free Dead or Alive”), and stars “The 100” stars Eliza Taylor and Bob Morley, along with Bryan Batt (“12 Years a Slave”), David Keith (“An Officer and a Gentleman”), Hannah Fierman (“VHS”), and Seth Michaels (“Red Notice”).
Emiliano De Pablos Top Spanish indie producer-distributor Vértice 360 has teamed with Madrid-based outfit Dexiderius Producciones to produce coming-of-age thriller series “Verdugos” (“Executioners”). Structured as a six episode mini-series in Spanish and Basque, “Executioners” has been picked as one of the 15 finalist projects selected at next month’s Series Mania Forum Co-Pro Pitching Sessions. The mini-series is created and written by Dexiderius co-founder Pedro Ríos (“Mis adorables vecinos,” “Fuera de control”) and Rodrigo Martín (“Manos de Seda,” “Lex”). Dexiderius co-founder César Martínez and Alberto Rull, EVP production and content at Vértice 360, will produce.

The film, which is distributed worldwide by Universal Pictures Content Group, will be releasing internationally on July 3 and in the U.S. on July 4. In Berlin, it plays in the Encounters section. “The Adults” follows Eric (Cera) as he returns home for a short visit and finds himself caught between reuniting with his sisters and chasing a victory with his old poker group.
Joe Otterson TV Reporter The David Oyelowo-led “Bass Reeves” series at Paramount+ from Taylor Sheridan has cast Barry Pepper in a series regular role, Variety has learned exclusively. Along with Oyelowo, Pepper joins a cast that also includes Dennis Quaid, Forrest Goodluck, and Lauren E. Banks. The series is based on the true story of the titular lawman. Per the official description, “Reeves, known as the greatest frontier hero in American history, worked in the post-Reconstruction era as a federal peace officer in the Indian Territory, capturing over 3,000 of the most dangerous criminals without ever being wounded.”
