Prince Harry and Prince William once used a secret code to communicate during their grandfather's funeral.
During an interview after the publication of his bombshell memoir Spare, Harry spoke about the code as he recalled how his brother "stopped him cold" when he used it at Prince Philip's funeral.
The two brother's relationship was already in ruins at that point after Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California to start a new life, the Mirror reports.
In his book, Harry spoke of how his sibling rivalry with the future King developed into a full-blown fallout after William repeatedly warned him about Meghan which led to a physical fight in 2019.
Now that the Sussexes live in the US, the two feuding Princes have barely seen each other since the death of Prince Philip in 2021.
They were photographed walking together at the funeral ceremony as they were finally reunited.
During an interview with ITV's Tom Bradby, Harry revealed that his brother had used the "special code" the pair have but it did not create the desired effect.
In Spare, Harry details how William had pulled him back so the two of them could speak privately as he told his younger brother that he loved him and wanted him to be happy.
Prince William reportedly said: "Harold you must listen to me, I just want you to be happy, Harold, I swear, I swear on mummy’s life" .
Harry explained that this was a phrase the two brothers knew only to use when they urgently needed to be heard by the other.
The Duke recalled to Bradby: "It stopped me cold, as it was meant to. Not because he'd used it, but because it didn’t work. I simply didn’t believe him."
