The year was 2014, shortly after Page publicly came out as gay during a speech made at a Human Rights Campaign conference (“I’m here today because I am gay,” Page told the crowd). Page later came out as transgender in December 2020. As Page writes in a chapter aptly titled “Famous A–hole at Party,” an actor that he considered an “acquaintance” approached him at the party and said, “You aren’t gay. That doesn’t exist. You are just afraid of men.” Page writes the actor also threatened him by saying: “I’m going to fuck you to make you realize you aren’t gay.”

You have seen some of my movies and you hate them.” Hanks continued, “Here are the five points of the Rubicon that are crossed by anybody who makes movies: The first Rubicon you cross is saying yes to the film. Your fate is sealed. You are going to be in that movie. The second Rubicon is when you actually see the movie that you made. It either works and is the movie you wanted to make, or it does not work and it’s not the movie you wanted to make.”

While Disney owns Marvel and all of its characters, Sony still has the film rights to perhaps the biggest one of them all—Spider-Man. Though the two studios have combined forces on three ‘Spider-Man’ films recently, Sony has been milking the IP for all its worth, with various spinoffs, including “Venom,” “Morbius,” and “Kraven the Hunter.” And it would appear Sony isn’t stopping anytime soon with spinoffs.
