Cosby was convicted of a criminal sexual assault charge in Pennsylvania in April 2018. However, in 2021, the actor was released from prison after spending nearly three years behind the bars; the conviction was overturned by the state Supreme Court. The actor, now 85 years old, has discussed plans for a comedy tour.

Lawyers for former Beach Boys guitarist David Marks yesterday tried to convince the Ninth Circuit Appeals Court in the US to revive a class action lawsuit over how Universal Music processes and pays streaming royalties to heritage artists.Marks was originally a member of the Beach Boys in 1962 and 1963, and rejoined the band for a couple of other short stints in the 1990s and 2010s. Universal Music, meanwhile, acquired the band’s 1960s catalogue when it bought EMI and its Capitol Records label back in 2012.The lawsuit filed by Marks centred on a common gripe among many heritage artists over the deductions that are made by local subsidiaries of the major labels when music is streamed in countries other than the one in which those artists were signed.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Allen's label BBR Music Group said, "BBR Music Group has dissolved its relationship with Jimmie Allen, he is no longer an active artist on its roster." That included, legal papers said, that Almanzar “was a prostitute … was a user of cocaine … had and still has herpes … had and still has HPV … engaged in a debasing act with a beer bottle and … committed infidelity”.Almanzar denied all the allegations that Kebe had made, and told the court that false rumours spread by the YouTuber had had a negative impact on her mental health, resulting in the rapper becoming depressed and suicidal.Kebe, meanwhile, basically admitted in court that she didn’t fact-check any of the allegations made about Almanzar on her YouTube channel, even when the rapper was actively denying those claims.A jury found Kebe liable for defamation in January last year, awarding the rapper nearly $4 million in damages.
