Members of One Direction have reportedly met up to record new music for the first time in seven years. The record-breaking boy bands called it quits in 2015, five years after shooting to fame on The X Factor. Originally Louis Tomlinson, 31, Niall Horan, 29, Harry Styles, 29, Liam Payne, 29, and Zayn Malik, 30, all auditioned as solo artists on the singing competition, but it was the brains of Simon Cowell that saw their potential as a group.
After coming in third place on the singing competition, the band went on to make five albums, a string of number one singles and racked up millions of adoring fans on the way. But people around the world were left heart broken when the band announced they were taking a hiatus from making music together and were going to focus on their own solo projects, just months after Zayn announced he would be leaving the group for good. Since the break-up Zayn, 30, went on to shift millions of records and had a number one in 2016 with his hit PILLOWTALK.
Meanwhile Harry, 29, has also had his world-wide tours sell out within minutes and has even done a campaign with the iconic fashion house Gucci. But the two of them weren’t in the studio recently when Liam, 29, Louis, 31, and Niall, 29, met up at a studio in LA. Louis and Niall are said to have ‘jumped on a track’ with Liam who is currently recording his second album.
An insider told The Sun: “Liam is great pals with Niall and Louis, so loved catching up with them while they were all in LA. Being in the studio together felt natural, so they all jumped on a track. “It was second nature to them singing together and felt like old times.

Mike Wass The road from boy band fame to solo stardom is notoriously bumpy, but Niall Horan made the transition look easy with 2017 debut album “Flicker.” Eschewing the pop of One Direction for earthier, singer-songwriter fare, the Irishman carved out his own artistic identity — one hit at a time. Horan, 29, then broadened his sonic horizons on “Heartbreak Weather,” but its release coincided with the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and promotion suddenly ground to a halt. With time on his hands for the first time in a decade, the pop star looked inward and started writing “The Show.” His third album, due June 9 via Capitol Records, finds Horan laying his feelings bare as he opens up about love and the rigors of adulthood. “If I made this album four years ago, I probably wouldn’t have written some of those songs,” the hitmaker muses. “The pandemic was a good time for me to reflect on everything that’s happened up until that point.”
