A 'bubbly' nightclub employee tragically died after crashing her car into a bridge on her way home from work, an inquest has heard.
Kelsey Stuttard had just left 3D nightclub in Leek when her Audi A3 smashed into a bridge on Macclesfield Road, Stroke-on-Trent on May 7, 2022.
An inquest heard the 31-year-old, from Cheadle, was more than twice the drink-drive limit and travelling at 68mph at the time of the fatal collision.
As reported by the Mirror, North Staffordshire area coroner Emma Serrano ruled that the alcohol combined with a lack of sleep were most likely what caused the Kelsey to crash.
A post-mortem found she had suffered multiple injuries resulting in her death.
Kelsey's heartbroken family described her as a 'caring' young woman who would donate her time to charities.
In a statement read to the inquest at Stoke Town Hall, dad Gary said: "During the Covid pandemic, she became a trainee accountant where she worked full time. She also took on a self-employed job selling shots to customers in 3D club, in Leek.
"On May 6, she started work at 9am. She finished at 5pm and returned home at 6.15pm. At 10pm she left home to go to Leek. Regularly, she would have a sleep before going out again but she did not this time.
"She would usually get home at around 3.30am. At 5am we were informed of her death. She was very familiar with her vehicle. There were no issues and she was a competent driver. She was very familiar with the road too."
During the inquest, the family added: "Kelsey liked to travel. She had helped underprivileged people in Tanzania. There was this one night where she called into Tesco on her way back and saw a homeless person.
"She went in and bought them a pillow and a duvet. That's the sort of person she was. She
