Black Knight.Black Knight, based on the the popular 2017 to 2019 webtoon Delivery Knight, follows the adventures of legendary deliveryman ‘5-8’ and the refugee Sa-wol in a future, dystopian Korea that has been devastated by severe air pollution. The series will premiere globally on May 12, exclusively on Netflix.The series will star Our Blues actor Kim Woo-bin as ‘5-8’.
He will be joined by Taxi Driver‘s Esom as a major at the Defence Intelligence Command and Dinner Mate actor Song Seung-heon as the lone heir to an oppressive conglomerate that rules the world. It will be helmed by director Cho Ui-seok, known for films such as Master and Cold Eyes.“I felt immense happiness while filming this series, and I sincerely hope that our collective efforts resonate with the viewers, and they too relish every moment of it, just as I did,” said Kim, per a Netflix press release.Netflix first teased Black Night easier this year, when it unveiled its full slate of Korean shows and movies for 2023.

The streamer also recently renewed the series for a second season.

New rules are set to be introduced bringing the platforms under the purview of the U.K.’s media regulator Ofcom, which currently oversees both public and private broadcasters. The new Ofcom “content code” is designed to “protect audiences from a wider range of harmful material – such as misleading health claims” according to a press release issued by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (CMS) shortly before the latest draft of the bill was shared. The changes come as viewing habits and technology rapidly change the needs and practices of the screen industries. According to Ofcom, since 2011 linear viewing has dropped by 68% in the 16-24 demographic.

Naman Ramachandran Construction has begun on Birmingham’s Digbeth Loc. Studios, the brainchild of British screenwriter, director and producer, Steven Knight (“Peaky Blinders”). Knight’s vision, alongside business partner, TIME+SPACE CEO Piers Read, is to create a long-term cultural legacy for his home city by welcoming blue-chip brands to the studio. Work on the site is expected to complete by mid-July with the first filming due to take place in October. First shows to be filmed at the new facility include BBC drama “This Town” from Banijay U.K.’s Kudos and food format, “MasterChef,” produced by Banijay U.K.’s Shine TV. An area of the new studios is also expected to be occupied by legendary Birmingham reggae band UB40.
