Netflix announces premiere date for original K-drama ‘Black Knight’

ITV bosses have revealed the start date for the I'm a Celebrity 'all stars' series as the jungle show returns to our screens. Fans won't have long to go before they can see their favourites from previous series running the gauntlet again.

In its first three days of availability, the film took the title for Netflix’s second biggest opening weekend for a comedy film with over 42 million views. The sequel starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston earned 64.42 million hours viewed total during the viewing window and also appeared in the Top 10 in 91 countries. The first film in the franchise also joined the list of film titles at No. 2 with 24.7 million hours viewed. On the English TV side, “The Night Agent” continued to stay ahead of the competition taking the No. 1 spot for the second week. The action-thriller has pulled in an 385 million total hours viewed in its first two weeks and now has more than 47 million views. Netflix calculates total views by taking the total hours viewed and dividing that by the show’s runtime hours, which in this case was 8.2 hours. The streamer also recently renewed the series for a second season.

Jesy Nelson has announced she is releasing a new single later this month.The former Little Mix singer, 31, revealed the track, titled Bad Thing, will be released on April 14 in an Instagram post on Monday evening. New rules are set to be introduced bringing the platforms under the purview of the U.K.’s media regulator Ofcom, which currently oversees both public and private broadcasters. The new Ofcom “content code” is designed to “protect audiences from a wider range of harmful material – such as misleading health claims” according to a press release issued by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (CMS) shortly before the latest draft of the bill was shared. The changes come as viewing habits and technology rapidly change the needs and practices of the screen industries. According to Ofcom, since 2011 linear viewing has dropped by 68% in the 16-24 demographic.

The Night Agent and popular K-drama The Glory are Netflix’s most-watched programmes this week.According to Netflix’s latest weekly lists of Top 10 most-watched TV shows and movies, The Night Agent amassed over 168million hours viewed on the streaming platform for the week of March 20 to 26. Series topped the most-watched English-language TV series for the week, ending a two week-reign for Season 4 of You.The Night Agent was released on March 23 and is based on the 2019 Matthew Quirk novel of the same name.

The series currently ranks third on the list. Most recently, Netflix renewed “You” for a fifth and final season.

British DJ Graeme Park has announced the death of his 18-year-old son Oliver after a “year long battle with cancer”. KISS is reportedly set to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2024.Speaking to The Rock Experience with Mike Brunn, the band’s manager Doc McGhee revealed that after years of trying to get the film off the ground, it has finally been picked up by Netflix and will be released next year.“It’s a biopic about the first four years of KISS. During the March 13-19 viewing window, the show earned 123.59 million hours viewed. “The Glory” has also moved up the Most Popular List into the No. 7 spot with the release of Part 2, totaling 380.38 million hours viewed in the first 28 days of each episode’s premiere. The series follows a woman who sets out on an elaborate revenge plot to make her tormenters pay years after she survived horrific abuse in high school. “The Glory” first debuted with Season 1, Part 1 in December of last year. Part 2 was released on March 10.

You Season 4 is continuing its reign over the Netflix Top 10, despite the debut of Shadow and Bone Season 2 last week.

Spoon have announced details of their first London show in five years, with frontman Britt Daniel talking to NME about their forthcoming tour with The Black Keys, covering David Bowie and how he should have ended up in the Meet Me In The Bathroom documentary.The Texas indie veterans will be performing at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on June 20 as a one-off headline show in support of their Grammy-nominated 2022 album ‘Lucifer On The Sofa’, and ahead of their UK arena tour with The Black Keys.“It’s just been too long since we played in London,” Daniel told NME. “Alex [Fischel,  keys and guitar] and I were over there last year doing some acoustic things in shops but I think we can all agree that five years have gone by since Spoon played a gig in London, and that’s too long.”We caught up with Daniel, to talk about the show, the arena tour, Bowie, indie legacy and more.Britt: “Yeah, it’s his birthday.

Naman Ramachandran Construction has begun on Birmingham’s Digbeth Loc. Studios, the brainchild of British screenwriter, director and producer, Steven Knight (“Peaky Blinders”). Knight’s vision, alongside business partner, TIME+SPACE CEO Piers Read, is to create a long-term cultural legacy for his home city by welcoming blue-chip brands to the studio. Work on the site is expected to complete by mid-July with the first filming due to take place in October. First shows to be filmed at the new facility include BBC drama “This Town” from Banijay U.K.’s Kudos and food format, “MasterChef,” produced by Banijay U.K.’s Shine TV. An area of the new studios is also expected to be occupied by legendary Birmingham reggae band UB40.
