Selome Hailu Hannah Gadsby’s third comedy special at Netflix is titled “Someone Special” and will premiere on the platform on May 9. The special comes out of a multi-title deal Gadsby signed at Netflix in 2022, which includes both the solo standup taping and a multi-comic special featuring gender-diverse comedians with Gadsby as the host. Described as a “feel good set,” “Someone Special” features Gadsby discussing their 2021 wedding to their producer Jenney Shamash, more than one traumatic encounter with a bunny and more. It was taped at the Sydney Opera House in fall 2022 as a part of Gadsby’s most recent world tour, titled “Body of Work.”

In the special, she tells the story of admitting to Hicks for the first time that she wanted “to be with another woman sexually.” The Academy Award winner, who’s been married to Hicks since 2006, reveals she had kept her desires a secret for most of her life out of fear, due to her family history. As she nears the end of her set in “My Name is Mo’Nique,” she spends a portion of the special remembering the relationship between her grandmother MiMi and a queer family member whom she affectionally refers to as “Uncle Tina,” reflecting on the distant relationship the two had due to Tina’s sexuality.

Netflix has unveiled a trailer for its new K-drama series, Doctor Cha.The series will star Our Blues actress Uhm Jung-hwa as full-time housewife Cha Jung-sook, who decides to return to her medical career after a twenty-year break. Meanwhile, her husband Seo In-ho (played by All Of Us Are Dead‘s Kim Byung-chul) is the chief surgeon at the same hospital.The new trailer opens with a shot of Cha waking up in the hospital’s break room as a voiceover asks: “Applying for residency?
