As Married at First Sight Australia once again returns to our screens tonight (Monday March 6), fans will be pleased to heart that a new twist could change the course of the series in a brand new show first. Appearing on Monday’s edition of This Morning ahead of the show’s return, MAFS love guru Mel Schilling gave viewers a behind the scenes look at the upcoming series as she dished the dirt on all the drama set to unfold, including a “complete game changer” that changed the course of the “entire experiment.” If you’ve not seen the show before, the basic premise is that a team of experts, including Mel, and psychologist John Aiken and sexologist Alessandra Rampolla bring together pairs of singles based on their personality and psychological profiles rather than traditional looks .
"We are actually pairing people up who have never met before, who probably wouldn't usually meet in real life, and they meet for the first time at the alter. They clasp eyes on each other for the first time- on their wedding day,” explained Mel. Matching people by looking at data and through interviews, they pair people up by their values in a relationship and what they "need".
She added: "Really what it's about for us is the science. The big question here is: Can science predict love? And that is the question we're constantly seeking to understand." One keen fan of the show, is This Morning host Holly Willoughby, who couldn’t resist quizzing her guest about what we will see in the new series. She said: "So, there is a tease.
And we saw it there in the trailer. There is something that happens in the first nine seconds that changes everything... what is it?" Mel responded: "Holly, it's a complete game changer.
