Martin Lewis has issued an urgent warning about scams which were using his face and name.
The Money Saving Expert has taken to social media to remind followers that ads which feature him might not be all that they seem. Martin, whose Twitter profile picture is currently a photo of him with the words 'I don't do ads' written across his forehead, said fraudsters are 'hard pushing' scams that feature him.
He warned these scammers are using his name and often adding pictures from his appearances on TV.
On Twitter, Martin wrote: "Sadly criminals are again hard pushing scams using my face and name, often with pics from TV shows.
"If you want to check just search on MoneySavingExpert to see if it's something I've actually said, if it's not there, it won't be."
In a picture attached to the Tweet, Martin clarified he does not do ads and he does not agree to appear in promoted posts.
He also stated any posts on social media are promoting cryptocurrencies while featuring his face are scams.
One commenter said: "I've seen loads with your name on Facebook.. quite a few referring to you on GMB too", while another added: "I had 4 of these scams on Facebook in just one day last week."
Previously, Martin sued Facebook after over 1,000 scam adverts featuring his name or image appeared on its site. As a result, the social media giant settled out of court, agreeing to donate £3 million to a Citizens Advice anti-scam project.
The Money Saving Expert also got Facebook to add a scam ads reporting button as a result of the settlement.
