Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford has recalled the first time he met legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson as a youngster in the Reds' academy.
The 25-year-old came through the academy at United, having joined the Reds after spending a week training with rivals Manchester City, with Liverpool also thought to be keen on the player at the time. Rashford progressed through the age groups - training with the first-team for the first time aged 16 under the management of David Moyes during the 2013/14 season.
Rashford went on to make his senior debut in February 2016 against Danish club Midtjylland after Anthony Martial was injured in the warm-up. The Englishman marked his first-team debut with two goals in the second half of a 5–1 win. The forward's Premier League debut came just three days later against Arsenal, where he scored twice and provided the assist for the other in a 3-2 win over the Gunners.

Nowadays, the England international is United's talisman - having registered 24 goals and nine assists in all competitions so far this season. However, as a youngster in the academy, he still got excited about seeing Ferguson in and around the training ground.
Rashford told Sky Sports: "I remember being in the canteen, probably about, I'd say maximum nine-year-old, he just came and said hello. We were just eating our breakfast and he just said 'morning' to the first-team players.
"I wasn't nervous, I was just excited. That is the feeling that we got anyway being in and around the first-team, maybe passing them in the corridors, just small stuff like that, it builds your excitement and your hunger really.
