Erik ten Hag's first summer transfer window with United saw the Reds spend £225million on six new arrivals. Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Antony and Martin Dubravka all made the move to Old Trafford.
Not a day goes by without more transfer links and now CaughtOffside report that United are lining up a move for Maddison. The report claims that the Reds will face competition from both Newcastle and Tottenham for the 25-year-old, as a number of clubs are keen on the midfielder.

Ten Hag might be drawn to Maddison's versatility, a trait that he rates highly in his players. Despite the superb performances of Eriksen, who occupies a similar role to the Leicester man, the transfer would allow United to plan in the long-term for an eventual replacement for the Dane.
Elsewhere, United have reportedly been told that they will need to pay £105million if they want to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio.
That's according to the Serie A club's president, Claudio Lotito, who told Italian outlet Il Messaggero (via the Express) that every month that goes by, the price of their player will continue to go up. United were monitoring Milinkovic-Savic over the summer, but a move failed to materialise for the Serbian international.
The 6ft 3in midfielder's contract is set to expire in 2024, meaning that the Italian club are in no rush to sell the player to United or any of the numerous other clubs competing for his signature. The 27-year-old has already scored three times and provided seven assists in his opening nine Serie A matches,
