A man has tragically died after emergency services were scrambled to a house in Oldham after reports a cooker had been left on.
Police were called to Sunfield Avenue in Moorside on Thursday (2 March) after receiving a call that a man was unconscious and non-responsive inside the property.
Police, alongside crews from Greater Manchester Fire Service and North West Ambulance Service attended the scene, shortly after 5pm after smoke was reported to be coming from the house.

Despite the best efforts of other individuals at the property, as well as paramedics, a 65-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
No other details have been released about the man's identity. The force added that is is believed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
His cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but it's understood that the man died 'whilst cooking' inside the property.
A GMP spokesperson said: "GMP received a call at 5.22pm on Thursday 2 March 2023, to attend an address on Sunfield Avenue, Oldham, where a man was reported to be unconscious and non-responsive.
"Colleagues from GMFRS and NWAS also attended. Despite the best efforts of other individuals in the property, and NWAS, the man was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene."
