A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal crash that killed a Scots grandad last year.
Pedestrian Jim Paterson, 63, was struck by a vehicle around 12.20am on Sunday, November 27, while walking along Brediland Road in the Foxbar area of Paisley.
Emergency services rushed to the incident but sadly Jim could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 26-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
He has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal and is expected to appear at court at a later date.
Following Jim's tragic death, his heartbroken grandchildren were among those to leave floral tributes in the street paying tribute to their 'loving dad and grandad'.
In a note, they said: “To grandpa, you made us smile and laugh every day. We are forever grateful to have you in our lives. We will always love you.”
A Police Scotland statement said: "A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal crash in Paisley, which took place on Sunday, 27 November, 2022.
"The incident took place on Bredilands Road and led to the death of 63-year-old pedestrian Jim Paterson.
"The 26-year-old has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal and is expected to appear at court at a later date."
